RED RAIL BOARD
What we did here is add more rocker =and concave!
Make the gromit carve turns!
shorten his rail ark , look for pocket and think more where the best part of the wave is!
this board is drawn out as well . Clean outline with carve in mind.
Sandy learnt to surf bigger waves on this board.
Sandy lernt to surf copa point on this board .
The board has paddle and grunt for juice!
clean pin tail for carve style and intro into size!
Experiment went well !
Thats the board laying on grass!

Sandy steped up a notch! sick!
THE LATEST FLOURO BOARD
Carving copa point and laying hard grab rail cut backs dont win heats in 1 foot slop ! yeh!
well lets add tail area to the party !
Much like a snow shoe in snow compared to stilts!
with plane carve turn we addd slop!
still round tail but much fuller!
adds float behind back foot drive !
added tail area and shorten rail length and decreased nose width!
Flouro colors to catch chick
It works and soon sandy will need to move again and get a new board.
What is next I will share!
Already working on it!
Sandy is ready for high porformance boards beyond his insane talent
been testing the answer myself now.
hope sandy loves it
Saga continues………….

Sandys first board . BLUE MEMO
At age of 5 this board was shaped with his old foamy in mind.
Plenty of area and paddle and most important plane. Sandy needed to be comfy to wont to surf his first custom instead of his foamy. Gary his dad agreed it had to be an early 80’s model. It has alot of tail area and straighter curve to give it run.
Sandy still needed a push from gary but the board planed unreal. 1 foot corner lefts to the beach!
stoked!
Mum and Dad designed spray!
Sandys next board Big Skull
It was another year when Sandy piggy bank broke.
It was also time to make sandy turn more than pig dog to the beach and the only way to do that is pull in the area , so the 2nd board was slightly refinded to see what Sandy can do? Its the same idea, you get a more advanced board your surfing inproves! Gary asked for an early 90,s modle board!
Worked a treat . Still had the important plane for lenght of joy but a hint of responce to turn from. Sandy started to do cut backs ! stoked!
Sandy surched the web for that skull spray
Sandys 3rd small skull and flames
This was a surprise board.
I needed to see if sandy could handle a much more high performace out line ,still with plane in mind for reach to beach factor. So i made it as an experiment to see.
Little bugger had a tough time paddleing it but his turns inproved , his take offs insane (developed a great late take off ) and was starting to think where he was on the wave.
Insane for a 7 year old!
Gary has put alot of love into Sandans passion by skateing, waste beep in water for 3 years helping sandy. Great dad full of encouragement without push but always full of fun! Legend
Spray had to be similar so his last board was still loved!
Sandys Star board!
This was the board i introduced rocker!
Stop Sandy crusing and make him think where the power and curve of a wave is he needs to surf!
We added paddle power similar outline suited to his growth , now 8.
Clearly remember his first wave on that board! Gary gave him a shove on a sick left and Sandy raced and ran out of puff! turned and sat in pocket to the beach doing his new moves he learnt on his old board! Gary said it paddles heaps better ! I can finally get some waves myself! bothe stoked,
The star spray Gary sat up all night cutting out stencils!
Sandys boards have been an insane challange and takes alot out of me. Stoked to see him happy!
NEXT BLOG SANDANS NEXT 2 BOARDS
Surfing is still a young sport to adapt to 8 year olds!
We have under 8 soccer ,league tennis .golf etc!
Get out there and enjoy your kids
Avoca Board Riders has a white water parent assist comp!
Taking my kid!
All welcome
See you there

This will melt down the wax and not harm your boards finish.contact your surfboard shaper about what paints they use ! Professionals use acryic laquer! Not responsble for cheaper spray or finnish! buy the best get the best!! Do not use acetone or thinners!!!

So simple!
Check your sun glasses. Inside is a concave, outside is a convex = vee. A concave adds speed to your board because it straightens the centre line (stinger) of your board! The concave adds grip to turns. The rail grabs first!

A vee is the opposite. Vee bottoms are are used where no extra speed is needed, e.g. big waves! Bigger waves have power, so there’s no need for your board to get extra speed. The vee is used to get your board on rail a lot smoother.

Try this

Go to the kitchen sink and turn on the cold tap. Grab a spoon and first hold the convex side up under the running tap. Roll the spoon from side to side. Notice the water release off the edge of the spoon? Also, you can tip the spoon from side to side more easily.

Now turn the spoon over. Water everywhere! The water spits off the concave (inside) of the spoon much faster and much harder!

Its the same as your board. Water travels across the board diagonally. The only time water travels straight down your board is when you’re headed in a straight line back to the beach. Have a look at surf photos, you can see the water squirting out just like that spoon under the tap.

You can check out the concave in your board by using a straight edge across your board, examples of this are shown in these photos.

Ok then, what does double concave mean?

Well, that’s 2 spoons under the tap—that just wet your shirt—but adds the concept or a vee!! It means you can break a rail–line easier than a single concave (think of the roll part of spoon added to the scoop of the spoon). It’s another design to break your board on rail easily, while keeping concave!

I love double concave, but it must be kept under back foot for best results! I do a lot of bigger guys and bigger wave boards with this in mind! For the heavy footed or for power in waves, double concave is a must!!
